The First Day: The teams from Slovenia, Greece, Turkey and Serbia arrived on Monday 6th March to Istanbul. Our activities started on Tuesday.

All the students participated a lecture held by Marjetka Bunford Selinšek on forming arguments. After that, they had one hour to prepare the topic School strikes on global warming should be supported. In a mini debate format, they argued for and against the topic.

Meanwhile the coordinators of the project discussed the future project activities and continued their work on the Debate Manual.

In the afternoon we visited MiniaTurk Museum, as well as the Rahmi Koc Car Museum. Both museums were very interesting and educative.

The Second Day: The students prepared the topic Required Reading in schools should be supported. Supervised by a few teachers they argued for and against the given topic.

All the coordinators continued their work on the Debate Manual which will be the final product of the project.

In the afternoon the Turkish hosts took us to Dolmabahce Palace, the Bosphorus Bridge and the Egyptian Bazaar. Standing there between Europe and Asia and seeing the Bridge which connects the two continents is an amazing sight.

The Third Day: The students worked on their essays: an argumentative essay School strikes on global warming should be supported and opinion essay Required Reading in schools should be supported.

The coordinators and teachers planned and organized future transnational meetings and other activities in accordance with the project.

The rest of the day we had a chance to visit the well-known Istanbul sights: Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Basilica Cistern and the Grand Bazaar. It was a day well spent. We sensed the spirit of the east and enjoyed the day.
